Beginning in July, the Buskirk-Chumley Theater will host three Friday “date nights” as part of their Summer Movie Series. Each night will feature a romantic film.
On July 21, the movie of choice will be Sabrina (1954), the beloved classic featuring Audrey Hepburn, William Holden, and Humphrey Bogart, in which Sabrina must choose between two brothers.
This year marks the 1967 film The Graduate’s 50th anniversary. With its return to the big screen on July 28, Benjamin Braddock, Elaine, and Mrs. Robinson must once again navigate unconventional romantic territory.
In Love Story (1970), Oliver Barrett IV and Jenny Cavalleri must bridge the gap between Oliver’s fantastic wealth and Jenny’s working-class background. The film will be at the BCT on August 4
The three movie selections have won a myriad of awards, amassing 35 Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations between them.
All showings will begin at 7:30 p.m. and admission is $5. Tickets can be purchased at buskirkchumley.org or at the BCT Box Office and Visitors Center at 114 E. Kirkwood. –Sophie Bird
