More than 250 people gathered outside the Monroe County Courthouse on Saturday, June 30, 2018, to protest the President Donald Trump administration’s zero tolerance immigration policy that has separated more than 2,000 children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Monroe County Democratic Party, Democracy for Monroe County, Indivisible Bloomington & 9th District, and the Indiana Latino Democratic Caucus–9th District co-sponsored the protest, which was one of more than 700 “Families Belong Together” rallies in all 50 states that day.

Speakers at the event included Indiana University law professor Luis Fuentes-Rohwer and Gavin Everett, a member of the Bloomington Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs.
