Cardinal Stage has announced its upcoming winter and spring programming, which features three new virtual Cardinal Cabaret Shows and an on-demand production of the musical Ordinary Days.
Winter programming will kick off with Home for the Holidays on December 11, 12, 18, and 19. This Cardinal Cabaret show will feature songs and stories from favorite Cardinal artists to celebrate the holiday season.
On March 26 and 27, Swing into Spring will feature music from artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. Vintage Broadway will round out the spring Cabaret programming with a collection of songs from well-known Broadway shows on May 7 and 8. All Cardinal Cabaret shows are hosted virtually at 7 p.m. and cost $20 per household per show.
The production of Ordinary Days will be available on demand from February 11–21. Tickets will be available for purchase soon. The show follows the stories of a couple navigating the challenges of moving in together and two strangers who become unexpected friends, with the storylines converging in what Cardinal calls a “sort-of-fairy tale,” set in New York City.
The full season of Cardinal’s digital content is available to Cardinal members for no additional charge. Memberships cost $100 and are available here.
In addition to the winter and spring programming, Cardinal has announced the fourth and final installment of its autumn Walkabout Radio Play series, The Women in the Woods. The audio-based plays are streamed like an audiobook or podcast and feature a story that takes place at various Bloomington locations, encouraging pedestrian listeners to visit important landmarks from the story as it unfolds.
The Women in the Woods features four episodes about an Indiana University student with mysterious ancestral ties to Bloomington who must work with the spirits of her ancestors in order to protect the town from evil. All four episodes and downloadable maps are now available for purchase as part of a donation-based package, available here.
