On Saturday, July 17, local Black authors of all ages will present their work on the lawn of the Monroe County History Center as part of the Black Authors Speak! showcase.
The event will feature the work of authors such as Charlie Nelms, Gladys DeVane, Jakobi Williams, Jacinda Townsend-Gides, and Amrita Myers and is free and open to the public. Authors will present short readings of their work, after which audience members will have the opportunity to interact with them and ask questions.
The showcase was sponsored by an Indiana Humanities Action Grant.
