On Monday, July 26, Morganstern’s Bookstore & Cafe opened at 849 S. Auto Mall Rd. after a 25-year hiatus. The Bloomington bookstore, which closed in 1996 after Barnes & Noble and Borders came to town, is the first big box bookstore in Bloomington since Barnes & Noble closed in 2019.
The soft opening on July 26 revealed a wide selection of books, a coffee and snack bar, and reading areas throughout the 9,000-square-foot space, which formerly housed Pier 1 Imports.
