Local musicians Krista Detor and Janiece Jaffe will present an outdoor concert at Switchyard Park on Friday, August 27, at 6 p.m.
Singer-songwriter Krista Detor has enjoyed international acclaim for her discography, which contains eight albums, the first of which was released in 2004. Detor’s music has been featured on NPR, PBS, and the BBC, among many other platforms, and at the Cannes Film Festival. She and her husband, David Weber, own The Hundredth Hill Artist Retreat in Bloomington.
Janiece Jaffe has recorded 11 albums and appeared as a guest vocalist on more than 25 others. A jazz musician, sound healer, and voice teacher, Jaffe has collaborated with musicians like Al Cobine, Freddie Hubbard, Frank Vignola, and Dominic Spera. Jaffe taught at Indiana University from 1991–1996 and continues to teach voice in her private studio.
This concert is part of the Performing Arts Series, which aims to expose Bloomingtonians to the talents of local artists. The concerts are free of charge and open to the public throughout the second week in September. Learn more here.
