MLK Day Winter Gardening Activities


Hinkle-Garton Farmstead, 2920 E. Tenth Street in Bloomington

The Hinkle-Garton Farmstead of Bloomington Restorations, Inc. will host its annual MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 21, from 10 am- 2 pm. The day will feature winter activities focusing on the site’s Volunteer Vegetable Garden. Volunteer service opportunities will continue throughout the spring during the 40 Days of Peace. Also opening on MLK Day will be a new exhibit at the farmstead highlighting volunteers and volunteer activities at the site during 2012. Volunteer with us on MLK Day and help with activities that will include readying the seed starting station and planting seeds for the 2013 Volunteer Garden, and creating educational signage for the native and perennial plants to be sold at the annual Daisy Day Plant Sale in April. The farmstead is located at 2920 E. Tenth Street in Bloomington. For more information call BRI at (812) 336-0909.
