On Labor Day weekend 2013, Saturday August 31st and Sunday September 1st, (rain or shine) Community Art Fair and Garlic, Inc jointly present the “2013 Community Art Fair and Garlic Fest” at Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park (formerly Third Street Park, across from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bloomington).
Two local organizations come together for this event featuring local talent and local food. The Community Art Fair portion of the event will feature local artists who will be displaying and selling their works from 10 am until 7ish on Saturday and again on Sunday, closing at 5ish.
The Garlic Fest portion of the event will feature live music on the stage all day with free admission.
Showcased foods will start at $3 and will feature garlic, otherwise the entire event is free to attend. The Garlic Fest portion of the event will also feature a Healthful Garlic Cooking Contest with cash prizes awarded on Saturday sponsored by The Runcible Spoon.
Throughout the weekend Garlic, Inc will also present featured speakers on the topic of buying and preparing foods with your health in mind and information booths.
This event is totally outdoors, so bring sunglasses, sunblock, hat, folding chair and picnic blankets. This event will roughly coincide with the Fourth Street Art Fair that same weekend, just 2 blocks away.
