The Friendship Force Club of Southern Indiana organizational meeting

01:00 pm to 03:00 pm
Monroe County Public Library, 302 E. Kirkwood, Room 1B
http://www.meetup.com/The-Friendship-Force-Club-of-Southern-Indiana/

Are you interested in traveling the world at moderate prices, and welcoming world visitors to southern Indiana? Are you attracted by the idea of getting to know families and individuals from other cultures personally? If so, we would love to have you join us in setting up a Bloomington-based chapter of Friendship Force International (FFI).
FFI is an international non-profit organization, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and established in 1977 “to promote global understanding across the barriers that separate people.” Currently there are clubs in 377 communities, located in 56 countries on six continents, with more than 18,000 members in all. Members of local FFI clubs arrange visits to and from other chapters, either within the U.S. or abroad, that are centered around home stays, personal interactions with locals and opportunities to savor the true flavors of a different culture. Members have the opportunity to travel to places they have always wanted to visit, at rates they can afford, and they also participate in hosting international visitors who come to experience a slice of real life in and around the club’s home base.
FFI members speak glowingly of the experiences they have gained and the long-term international friendships they have established.Over the years of the existence of FFI, there has been expansion into themed travel opportunities with language learning, ecological tours, active exploration, food, etc.

You can find much more information about the international organization at www.friendshipforce.org . If you are interested in finding out more about the Southern Indiana chapter, please join us for an organizational meeting at the Monroe County Library, Room 1B, from 1-3 pm on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.
