The Bloomington Watercolor Society is undertaking an initiative to collect new and used art supplies for the Henryville schools affected by the devastating March 2 tornado. As part of that effort, the City of Bloomington Arts Commission will have a collection box in Showers Atrium at City Hall for citizens who wish to donate art supplies for delivery to Henryville by Bloomington Watercolor Society members. Henryville’s school remains closed and temporary elementary classrooms have been setup in a nearby church in New Albany, Ind.
Art supplies will be collected during the following times: Wednesday, April 4, 4 – 7 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 9 – noon in the Atrium of City Hall. Bloomington Watercolor Society members will be on hand to accept donations. New or used art supplies are welcome. Specific needs include: black construction paper, colored pencils, oil & tempera paints, brushes, canvases, drawing pencils, erasers, sketchbooks, printmaking materials, glue & rubber cement, and ceramics materials.
