French Kiss–Music, Song, and Dance from 18th Century Paris

Génération Harmonique, a vocal and instrumental ensemble dedicated to the performance of music composed before 1800, presents their ArtsWeek 2012 concert: French Kiss. The program showcases chamber music of celebrated 18th century Parisian composers, French cantatas for soprano on the themes of love and loss, and dance from the court of Louis XIV presented by a fully costumed baroque dancer. Génération Harmonique members include Janelle Davis, violin; Sung Lee, oboe and flute; Erica Rubis, viola da gamba; Janet Scott, harpsichord; Philip Spray, violone & guitar; Carrie Henneman Shaw, soprano; and Sarah Edgar, dance. The event will be free and open to the public.
