About: The first session will cover basic aspects of a digital SLR camera and how to achieve desired effects. Time will be allotted for practice photos using morning lighting. Discussions include composition, lighting and depth of field. The instructor(s) will show examples of photographs using an assortment of settings. The second session will start off with outdoor practice photos (weather permitting); and how to overcome the challenges of afternoon lighting and contrast, and then we’ll explore basic photo editing that can be done with free photo editing software.
Instructor: Steven Higgs served as the senior environmental writer at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Steve has worked as a photographer and photo-journalist for many years.
