Bloomington Restorations, Inc., invites you to the monthly Museum Open Day at the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 29. The day will feature music by Connie Shakalis, soprano, and Vicki King, piano, performing favorite songs of Broadway and stage. Shakalis was recently seen in the award-winning production of “Hairspray” at Cardinal Stage Company. She was also seen as Eunice Hubbell in “A Streetcar Named Desire.” She recently moved to Bloomington from New York, where she performed in musicals and cabaret. King is a pianist with the Jacobs School of Music ballet department and the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. They are both members of the Friday Musicale. Visitors may also tour the main house and grounds. Pure maple syrup and jellies produced on site will be available for purchase. The Farmstead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned and maintained by Bloomington Restorations, Inc.
