In recognition of September as National Suicide Prevention Month, The Venue is focusing its Tuesday evening education series on Suicide Awareness and Prevention.
On Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., The Venue will host a presentation by Cindy Houston, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC, on Suicide Intervention and Prevention.
Cindy has established herself as an acknowledged leader of Bloomington’s mental health community as a fully licensed Master Mental Health Therapist in private practice with two Masters Degrees, providing services at Centerstone since 1987. At Centerstone she is a staff trainer in multiple areas, including Suicide Intervention.
Cindy is a certified trainer in ASIST ( Applied Suicide Interventions Skills Training)—an evidence-based protocol for citizens wishing to learn how to identify and provide successful interventions for those at risk of attempting suicide. Suicide is a tragedy that can be prevented if we learn what to look for, what to say, what to do. Join Us.
