Bloomington Restorations, Inc., invites you to the monthly Museum Open Day at the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead on Saturday, September 26, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. In recognition of Indiana Archaeology Month during September, a new exhibit will be on display. “Future Research at Hinkle-Garton Farmstead” will outline the site’s archaeology potential, planned work around the smokehouse, and how non-invasive remote sensing may help locate building foundations and other features. The project will be overseen by Meghan Buchanan, Research Scientist with the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology at IU. Members of Friday Musicale will also provide “Duets at Daisy’s” in the parlor. Pure maple syrup and jellies produced on site will be available for purchase. The Farmstead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is headquarters of Bloomington Restorations, Inc. It is free and open to the public and is located at 2920 E. 10th Street in Bloomington. For more information call BRI at 812-336-0909 or go to bloomingtonrestorations.org.
