Indiana Memorial Union Board and Live Nation present Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling hip-hop music superstar Lil Wayne at Assembly Hall March 3.
The concert is part of Lil Wayne’s “The Dedication Tour,” a personal thank you from Lil Wayne dedicated to all of his fans in cities he has rarely visited on his past tour runs and features special guest Rae Sremmurd.
Often regarded as the “Best Rapper Alive” or simply the best rapper ever, Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., a.k.a. Lil Wayne, Weezy, or Tunechi, is a Grammy Award-winning rap artist from Hollygrove, New Orleans, LA. He is currently CEO of his label Young Money Entertainment. Wayne was one of the first artists signed to Birdman’s Cash Money Records at age 11 and was part of the groups The B.G.’z and The Hot Boys. In 2012, Wizzle surpassed Elvis Presley with the most Hot 100 Billboard appearances as a solo act.
Rae Sremmurd is an American trap and hip hop duo composed of two brothers, Khalif “Swae Lee” Brown and Aaquil “Slim Jimmy” Brown, best known for their platinum singles “No Flex Zone” and “No Type,” which peaked at 36 and 16, respectively, on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. They are based in Atlanta, GA, and their debut album, SremmLife, was released on January 6, 2015.
Lil Wayne at Assembly Hall is presented by the Indiana University Memorial Union Board, Live Nation, and IU Auditorium.
