Indiana Maple Syrup Weekend at the Farmstead

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Hinkle-Garton Farmstead
http://bloomingtonrestorations.org

Visitors to the site can experience the sugaring process firsthand, purchase maple syrup and syrup-related products, and enjoy refreshments made with syrup inside the 1892 farmhouse. The National Maple Syrup Festival, in partnership with the Indiana Maple Syrup Association, has extended the festival to a third weekend this year with sugar makers around the state opening their operations to the public. The Hinkle-Garton Farmstead will also be hosting the Indiana Bicentennial Barn Quilt on the 12, an Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project of the Indiana Barn Foundation. With all 92 counties represented, the Monroe County barn represented on the quilt is the dairy barn at the farmstead. It was designed and quilted by Linda Long of Greene County. The farmstead is owned and maintained by Bloomington Restorations, Inc.
