In collaboration with IU’s Asian Cultural Center, IU Art Museum will host a tour focused on several works by Paul Gauguin created when the artist was living in Polynesia, as well as a selection of Polynesian works from the museum’s collection. This will be followed by a discussion on the legacy of Gauguin’s images and the persistence of stereotypes about Polynesians today.
