Indiana University Press, Bloom Magazine, WFIU and WTIU will co-host the second annual Quarry Festival of Books on Saturday, September 2. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dunn Meadow on the IU Bloomington campus.
Over 20 authors of fiction and general interest titles will be present to autograph books and meet readers with more than 100 individual books available for purchase. Special giveaways and discounts of up to 50% will be offered to all Festival attendees, and a kid’s coloring area will also be part of this year’s event.
“Indianapolis and several other large cities around the country regularly host book festivals to provide local residence a chance to meet and talk to authors,” said Dave Hulsey, Associate Director of Indiana University Press. “With the thriving publishing community in Bloomington, we believe our community would appreciate the same opportunity”
The Quarry Festival of Books will be the same day as the Fourth Street Festival of the Arts & Crafts and the Garlic Festival. It will be a tented event.
The first 100 book purchasers will receive a complimentary copy of Shrubs Large and Small.
