Unity of Bloomington, A Center for Spiritual Growth, invites the Bloomington Community to experience A Unity Festival: Celebrating Creativity & Connection to be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 4001 S. Rogers Street, Bloomington, from 3-7 p.m.
This is the 2nd year of our Unity Festival, an opportunity for the public to enjoy the variety of spiritual practices and activities that flourish in our community. There will be games and activities specifically for children, including Hula Hoops with the Hudsucker Posse, and diverse music provided by local artists, including 5-Spoke Wheel, Sakshi Zion and Baraka, Northstar Capoeira, and Travis Puntarelli. The healing arts will be represented by massage therapists Tana McElhinney and Jana Anna offering chair massages as well as local chiropractor Dr. Norm Houze, who is offering health and wellness assessments. Leslie Wilfong will do polarities resolutions. Vendors include an old-fashioned yard sale, Alchemy Awake, selling sacred yantra and crystal jewelry; and Authors and Artists, with offerings from local writers Janet Cheatham Bell and Lauren Lane Powell as well as recordings from local musicians. Food and refreshments will be sold by Carson’s BBQ of Ellettsville; Rasta Pops, homemade frozen fruit pops; Primal Delights, reiki-infused Kombucha and other fermented treats; and an old-fashioned bake sale. In our Chapel, visitors will experience music, meditation, and information about Unity and the spiritual principles that sustain our community. Other performers include various Unity soloists; Janiece Jaffe’s Healing Meditation, which features her vocal toning accompanied by crystal bowls; Laughter Yoga with Christine Eartheart; and tai chi-like Chi Gong with instructor Elisa Pokral. We invite you to stop by anytime between 3 and 7 p.m. for a fun and spiritually-uplifting experience with your friends and family.
