The Paintings of Ekphrasis III at The Venue

06:00 pm to 07:00 pm
The Venue Fine Art & Gifts

Once a year at The Venue we celebrate Ekphrasis, and this year we invite you to join us this Friday at 6:00 p.m. for a viewing of the Paintings of The Exphrasis III.
A Greek tradition, Ekphrasis is the literary description of, or commentary on, a visual work of art. For our event we have invited some of our community’s most recognized painters to submit an evocative painting. We then invited some of the area’s most prolific poets to select one of those paintings to be the inspiration for an original poem.
Paired poets and painters will present their paintings, read their poems, and describe their inspirational and creative processes. The Paintings of Ekphrasis are an experience all their own, independent of their poems, and we invite you to share in their inspirational energy. They are also for sale, at reasonable prices.
