Shawna Caspi is a delightful young lady visiting us from her home base of TORONTO CA to Nashville TN. Although a young writer – she is a real pro! Take a listen for yourself! (http://www.shawnacaspi.com). We are pleased to introduce Shawna to our Audience! She’ll be sharing the stage with two Nashville IN Singer-Songwriters – Scott Freed and Mr. Brown County himself – Frank Jones. Scott will be making a rare stage performance and we are very much looking forward to having him as one of our Feature Writers this upcoming Tuesday evening. Freed is a first-rate songwriter, having won the Napa Valley Folks Festival Emerging Songwriter Competition during his 20 stay out west. Other Songwriter kudos includes being the winner of the Northern California Songwriters’ Competition, as well as competitions in Texas and North Carolina. In 1988, he recorded his first CD, “Indiana Moon” and followed it up in 1994 with “Farther Down the Line.” If you’ve spent any time at all in this area – you will know the name ‘Frank Jones’. Jones is one of the more colorful Singer-Songwriters we’ve hosted at the Showcase. Always fun, ALWAYS delivering an exceptional performance with his smooth, rhythmic, and well-written songs. We all know this about Frank – but did you know that he spent two years in the Air Force, studied culinary arts at the Northwood Institute in West Baden, went to Indiana University for a year, and then apprenticed with chef Peter Brown at Brannan’s in Sacramento, California. These days if folks in Brown County need a host for special events – call on Frank Jones! He’s presently working on ‘The Lost Cabin Lodge’ (https://www.facebook.com/Lost-Cabin-Lodge-1427644064163253). Frank has been known to fill the room at the Brown County Lodge with his special programming – from Christmas to CD Release. We are truly fortunate to have Frank Jones as a supporter and Feature Writer for the Bloomington Songwriter Showcase!
