The Brown County Art Guild will host a reception prior to showing the film Loving Vincent. The reception is free and open to the public.
The film Loving Vincent is to be presented by the Brown County Playhouse. Movie tickets can be purchased at the Brown County Playhouse or online at https://www.browncountyplayhouse.org.
Loving Vincent is the world’s first fully oil-painted feature film. Each of the film’s 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas using the same technique and style as Van Gogh. These canvases were created by a team of 125 painters. The film turns Van Gogh’s work into a fascinating story with a biography about the artist’s final days.
The Brown County Playhouse will have three showings of the movie. Show times are at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, and at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3.
The Art Guild is excited to exhibit several original works and giclées from the film as a special attraction for visitors to the Art Guild Gallery.
Guild Artist Members will collaborate on a recreation of Van Gogh’s “Six Sunflowers” painting, and guild visitors and patrons will be able to purchase raffle tickets to win this unique piece of art created especially for the showing of the film. Raffle tickets may also be purchased at the Brown County Playhouse before each of the movie showings. Drawing of the winning raffle ticket will be held on December 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Art Guild. The winner need not be present for the drawing.
