On the day of Monroe County’s founding, come to the Courthouse for an afternoon of history, music, food and fun as we open the Monroe County Bicentennial year. Experiences will include the Presentation of the Colors by members of the Sons of the American Revolution, singing of the National Anthem by Rebecca Keith, historical perspectives by Cheryl Munson, Dr. James Madison, Charlotte Zeitlow, Senator Mark Stoops, and early county families, music by Entwyned and Grey Larsen and Cindy Kallett, and so much more! The historic pictorial 2018 Monroe County Bicentennial calendar will also be available for purchase and the Children’s “Name the Fish” contest will be announced. Attendees are also invited to enjoy music by Craig Brenner and see the new exhibit at the Monroe County History Center following events at the courthouse.
