The Bloomington Chamber Singers will continue its 2017-2018 season with a performance of five Bach cantatas composed for Lent, Easter, and the Ascension. Conducted by BCS Music Director Gerald Sousa, “Feast on Bach II: Cantatas of the Easter Season” will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 100 N. State Rd. 46, and is the second of a three-part series of concerts that explores the cantatas Bach wrote for the major feast days of the liturgical year.
Tickets are $20 General Admission; $10 Students, available at the door or in advance at our website, www.chambersingers.info.
A special preconcert lecture on Bach and his cantatas will be presented at 6:30 p.m. by IU Professor of Musicology and Bach scholar Dr. Daniel R. Melamed.
