On Tuesday, July 3rd, beginning at 5:30 p.m., The Venue will host Bloomington Unplugged, bringing you, on the first Tuesday of each month, always free, the finest in local, unampliphied performance art.
Jessica Ruby Radcliffe, this month’s feature artist, lived in England and New Orleans from 1999, until returning to Bloomington in 2016.
She was born in Los Angeles,of Spanish and Irish descent. One grandfather courted his sweetheart playing mandolin on horseback, the other was in jail with Leadbelly. Jessica took refuge in reading, writing, art and music, leaving formal education at an early age. She has performed extensively with spoken word and song throughout the world, but for Jessica, the only real journey is the journey of the heart, and her heart is as delicate and as strong as a spider’s web.
Jessica will read from her book of poems and stories, “Delicate Strange” and sing traditional and original songs, mostly unaccompanied. There will be books and cds available to purchase.
Begin your Fourth of July a little early. Join us.
