Friday Night Lecture – The Illusion of Loneliness: A Buddhist Perspective
Friday, October 19, 7-8:30pm
With Resident Teacher and Buddhist nun, Kelsang Namdrol
Almost everyone experiences at some time the feeling of loneliness. Even if we have family, friends, and other good conditions, we can still feel as if we are an isolated individual and suffer from loneliness and a yearning to feel a sense of connection. The weight of loneliness can often feel immense and difficult to overcome.
Using Buddhist teachings and meditation, we can heal our feelings of loneliness by recognizing that the perception of ourselves as separate from others is an illusion. In truth, we are all naturally and profoundly interconnected. By learning to understand and feel this connection we will reduce our sense of isolation, allowing a natural closeness and authentic love for others to arise.
Join us for this uplifting Friday Night Lecture! The evening will include a guided meditation, a talk and time for questions and answers.
Everyone is welcome.
