Topic : Coping with Stress: Meditation and the Mind
This free public talk, co-hosted by the Indiana University , School of Public Health HealthNow Student Group, open to everyone from the IU and Bloomington community, will offer strategies for coping with the stress that arises from work, school, relationships, technology, and life in general. Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike can benefit from the practical methods to meditation that will be introduced, showing how to transform what might otherwise be regarded as difficult situations into opportunities for personal growth, development, and happiness.
Teacher : Gen Kelsang Demo
The talk will be presented by our Special Guest Teacher, American Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Demo, US Mid-West National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union and Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Washington DC. She has been a deeply respected teacher and practitioner of Buddhism and meditation for over 20 years. Gen Demo demonstrates a wealth of practical knowledge and provides clear, inspiring teachings that appeal to everyone.
