Join United Way and IU Political and Civic Engagement for a monthly breakfast speaker series to explore issues which impact our community, friends, and neighbors.
On Thursday, May 9th, the topic, “Evicted! Poverty, Policy, and the Law,” will be examined by Marcy Wenzler from the Housing Law Center at Indiana Legal Services, Sarah Boomsma from the Bloomington Housing Authority, and a community member who has navigated the legal process as a tenant.
Attendees will have the opportunity to deepen their awareness about someone else’s reality while learning about the challenges, innovations, collaborations, resources available through area nonprofits, and how to get more involved in making a difference.
The $10 ticket cost includes breakfast and coffee catered by One World, with any remaining proceeds supporting United Way of Monroe County’s efforts to address the community’s critical needs today, while reducing those needs tomorrow.
Cost: $10
