The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University will reopen to the public on August 27 following five months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Four new exhibitions will accompany the opening. Three of the exhibits—Facing the Revolution: Portraits of Women in France and the United States, Living Treasure and Fabulous Follies, and House of the Singing Winds—were previously announced for this year. The fourth exhibit, announced on August 4, is a collection of works by contemporary artist Leonardo Drew.
The museum will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.–5 p.m., Saturday from noon–7 p.m., and Sunday from noon–5 p.m. and will be observing the latest health and safety guidelines from the university.
In addition to these in-person exhibits, the museum is also updating its online collections and scheduling virtual tours. An upcoming virtual tour explores the themes of “exile, emigration, and displacement of artists during the 1930s and 1940s.”
