Lotus Blossoms World Bazaar – Family Day

11:00 am to 03:00 pm
Fairview Elementary School, 500 W. 7th St., Bloomington, IN 47404
http://www.lotusfest.org/about-lotus-blossoms/

The Lotus Blossoms World Bazaar is a free multicultural arts-and-education event for kids and families. Created in 1996 with the help of area teachers, the World Bazaar has become a tradition in Monroe County schools — public, private, and charter — as well as in our community. Volunteers from the Bloomington community (and around the world) present arts, music, language, and international crafts at a vibrant multicultural fair in the gymnasium of Fairview Elementary. More than 30 activity stations let kids get their hands on the world….so grab your passport at the door, and go!

The Saturday World Bazaar Family Day is free and open to the public! Featuring hands-on activities, exploration of world cultures, and live performances. Appropriate for all ages, but especially fun for kids K-6. Children must be accompanied by parents/guardians.

KMC Bloomington was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the founder of the NKT and the author of 23 highly acclaimed books. His books clearly explain the full scope of the Buddhist path offering many different levels of access to these ancient teachings that are meant to bring about the experience of inner peace in our mind and in this world. They are presented in a context relevant to today’s modern world.

What is NKT Day?

The first Saturday in April is set aside to commemorate the founding of the NKT–IKBU (New Kadampa Tradition–International Kadampa Buddhist Union) by Venerable Geshe Kelsang in 1991.  The occasion is marked by special events and by pujas (prayers) and dedications at Kadampa centers worldwide. If you would like to join us for these prayers, they will be offered from 5–6 p.m.
What better day to stop by and check us out!
