We will be reading House of the Singing Winds by Selma N. Steele.
First published in 1966, this book chronicles the life and work of T. C. Steele, one of Indiana’s most renowned turn of the 20th century impressionist painters. Steele was one of the earliest founders of the Brown County Artist Colony. Written by his wife, Selma, this book provides a firsthand look at their lives together, the challenges and their mutual love for the southern Indiana hills, which they both found to be their inspiration. The home is now an Indiana State Museum and Historical site.
