As he listens to his favorite record, his drab apartment gives way to the sparkling sets and lavish costumes of The Drowsy Chaperone.

The Monroe County Humane Association will be holding it’s 11th annual benefit auction and dinner, Tails on the Town, this year at the Bloomington Country Club. Tails on the Town features a live and silent auction, dinner, dancing, and more! This year over 200 guests are estimated to attend the event, which will be raising money to support animals in our local community. In fact, MCHA raises 20% of its annual budget in just this one night! This is all made possible by the support of our guests and many local Bloomington businesses!

Asleep at the Wheel is an American country music group that was formed in Paw Paw, West Virginia, but is based in Austin, Texas. Altogether, they have won 10 Grammy Awards since their 1970 inception.

In their career, they have released more than twenty studio albums, and have charted more than 20 singles on the Billboard country charts. Their highest-charting single, “The Letter That Johnny Walker Read”, peaked at #10 in 1975.

Asleep at the Wheel is bringing a fresh look and sound into 2016. Now traveling as an 8-piece band, recent additions Katie Shore (fiddle, vocals), Dennis Ludiker (fiddle, mandolin) and Connor Forsyth (keyboard, vocals) have instilled a newfound energy and their own unique style within the band. Between those Texas Twin Fiddles and Boogie Piano, you can bet you’ll be dancin’ down the aisles and swingin’ all night long when the Wheel rolls into town!
