Take a boat trip with DNR Wildlife Specialist Rex Watters and Interpretive Naturalist Jill Vance, to see wildflowers, wildlife and a whole lotta watta. Bring a life jacket if you have one, plus water and a sack lunch—the trip will last into the afternoon. Boats will stop at several spots to explore, so wear boots and old clothes! Encores is an annual event where gently-used children’s items are sold on consignment. Shop at our consignment sale and stock up for the entire year–we’ll have baby and kids’ clothes (all sizes), toys, furniture, educational materials, and anything else you need. Come back at 12pm for our Half-Price Sale. And don’t forget the Dollar Dash, where every remaining item will be sold for $1 each! Bikes? Toys? Clothes? Cribs? It’s all $1!

Families from all over Bloomington bring gently-used kids’ items and clothes to us, and we sell them on consignment. These families receive 70% of the purchase price for each of their items sold. Items that are not purchased are returned to the seller (or donated, if they so choose). Checks for sold items are sent out within three weeks after the date of the sale. That’s it!

Volunteer Opportunity: Brain Extravaganza

The Brain Extravaganza! needs people to help lift and move the big brains around town on the weekend of April 27th-29th. Various shifts are needed. We’ll also need people to monitor the brains over the six months that they are on public exhibit. We’ll set up an irregular schedule for folks to check and report back about any attempts of vandalism.
