Topic: Cicada Brood X
Join us on-line as we prepare for the emergence of Cicada Brood X. It has been 17 years since these cicadas have been above the surface of the ground and we are going to talk about what you need to know about cicadas to fully enjoy this historic event and we will learn how you can even get involved and help scientists track this interesting species. To do the activity, you will want a toilet paper or paper towel roll, 2 small red puff balls or something red to color with, green pipe cleaners, something blue and green to color with, glue or glue stick, snack sized plastic bag, small piece of yarn, and ask our adult for permission to use a stapler and black permanent marker. This program will cover Indiana Academic Standards for life sciences grades 1-6.
