Still Crazy After All These Years. part I

10:00 am to 05:30 pm on Aug 27
By Hand Gallery
http://www.byhandgallery.com

By Hand Gallery is a cooperative. In addition to thirteen artist members, the gallery represents more than 60 local and regional artists. It is these consigning artists that the gallery wishes to honor in ‘Still Crazy After All These Years’ I and II. Through the long and difficult pandemic, these artists continued to find a way to create, finding in that creation a way to stay connected to both the suffering world at-large and to themselves. We salute them!

The first exhibition in the series will feature a diversity of work. The work will include that of painters Dawn Adams, Tom Rhea, and Joanne Shank; textile artists Lynne Mikolon, Janet Helber, Bob Wolanin, and Martina Celerin; photographers Randy Shed, Carol Koetke, and Sharon Bussert; woodworker Steve Rapp; and sculptor Bert Gilbert. There will be an opening reception from 5-8pm on the opening Friday the 6th.

Carol Golemboski | Magic Show
On View through August 27th in Pictura Gallery
Photographer, Carol Golemboski conjures the golden age of magic, with visual tricks and illusions folded into the mystique of the analog printing process.

Ileana Haberman | Pandemic Portraits
Pop-Up Show
On view August 3rd through August 6th in the Atrium

Pandemic Portraits is a new series made entirely in quarantine by local embroidery artist Ileana Haberman. Finding and stitching patterns from the natural world provided meditative calm amidst the chaos of the pandemic. Ileana has combined many motifs encountered on hikes (as well as some dreamed up on the couch) with nude bodies as a way to find safety and set intentions in a languid time of fear and loneliness.

But as his star rises, Valens has conflicts with his jealous brother, Bob (Esai Morales), and becomes haunted by a recurring nightmare of a plane crash just as he begins his first national tour alongside Buddy Holly (Marshall Crenshaw).
