Luke Buck, a watercolor artist and native Hoosier, has put together a collection of his favorite painting subject, something which holds a very special place in his heart, “Indiana Back Roads.”
All paintings in the exhibit will depict scenes of actual places, mainly those of the southern central Indiana area. Often, collectors may recognize any given scene as a place they have passed while traveling one of the back roads or blue highways of our beautiful state.

The Hammer and The Hatchett make their first appearance with us this evening. This popular duo is comprised of John Bowyer and Jayme Hood who are a couple making beautiful music together. Featuring lovely harmonies, and wonderful songs, this duo is sure to delight. Megan Hopkins is a young Indianapolis IN Songwriter with a set of lungs! This little gal can belt out a tune and is often found backing up some pretty cool folks vocally, but she is a force to contend with as a Singer-Songwriter. Still fairly new t the craft, Megan is making great progress very quickly and has already developed a nice following for her music. We welcome Megan to her first Bloomington Songwriter Showcase. Brandon Pfeiffer has been a regular rotation Songwriter since we first heard his clean, strong ‘pitch-on’ voice and the BIG songs he’s written to sing with that voice. Pfeiffer is originally from Bedford IN, but presently resides in Bloomington and has become one of the most popular Singer-Songwriters we’ve booked. Our feeling is that we’ll all be saying’ ‘Remember when Brandon Pfeiffer used to play at the Showcase’? – We’re all betting on him as most likely to ‘make it’ as a Singer Songwriter : -) Last, we have a duo from Martinsville IN – Melinda Armstrong and Randy Nichols. Melinda is a strong singer and lyrist / Songwriter. She is more Country Music writer than not, but she veers over into Contemporary/Americana territory as well. Her guitarist – Randy Nichols does a nice job backing Armstrong up, and together, they make a joyful sound.
Don’t forget – NO COVER CHARGE and ALL ages are welcomed to the Bloomington Songwriter Showcase – an independently produced/promoted program – hosted by the Players Pub in Bloomington IN.
