The Robert Cray Band
08:00 pm
Buskirk-Chumley Theatre
https://bctboxoffice.org/event/2081/
Robert Cray has been bridging the lines between blues, soul and R&B for the past four decades, with five Grammy wins and more than 20 acclaimed albums. With the group’s 1980 debut release, Who’s Been Talkin’, word about the band began to spread across the Northwest and down in to California. Playing packed bars and roadhouses the Cray Band was thrilling. Blues and soul fans showed up religiously, but those steamy raucous sets also drew crowds whose tastes in music ranged from rock to funk and jazz. This performance will have something for all music fans. Please join us for a night of high-energy music that transcends genre.

Nashville Comic-Songwriter Steve Goodie, Rocker – Summer Belt and Brandon Pfeiffer TONIGHT – B-Town Showcase!
08:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Bears Place - 1316 East 3rd St., Bloomington IN 47401
http://www.facebook.com/BloomingtonSongwriters
Steve Goodie (www.SteveGoodie.com) is our first performer tonight. I first saw Steve at the Bluebird Café in Nashville TN – his homebase these days. He was so funny as host for the Monday night Open Mic that I could hardly wait for the singer-songwriters to finish their sets so that Goodie would take the stage again. He’s performed with us before with Carla Ulbrich, who Steve was touring with at the time. This visit is solo. Here’s a list of just a few of his past gigs – and it doesn’t even include television or comedy clubs!!
Television: –
Feature performer, ‘The Today Show’ NBC
Short Attention Span Theater Bootcamp Special, Comedy Central
Charlie Daniels’ Talent Roundup, TNN
Comic Relief, Nashville TN
Charlie Chase’s Funny Business, TNN
Radio
Airplay of “You Stink, George W” on The Howard Stern Show 2004
Heavy rotation airplay of “Quidditch Ball Wizard” and “Harry’s Wand” on XM-KiDS Satellite Radio 2001
Brandon Pfeiffer (as most of you know) is one of the 3 staff members who produce and promote the Bloomington Songwriter Showcase. Pfeiffer is an exceptional writer, performer and person in general. He’s been pursuing his alter-ego lately – having been accepted to an improv group in Chicago where he is attending class and honing his stage skills. Having shared some fairly long car trips with Brandon – I can testify to the fact that he is funny, kind, and, in my honest opinion, one of the most entertaining people we’ve featured on the Showcase since its inception. He’ll be a great addition to this evening’s ALL-STAR Showcase.
Summer’s full name is Summer Belt (www.SummersMusic.net), but she prefers to only go by ‘Summer’. Her name perfectly describes her– she’s as talented as she is gorgeous. She’s young – well under 20 years old – but can hold her own on any program on which she appears. She gets around on her electric guitar very well, has written some songs that are beyond her years in lyric content and we expect there will be a day when folks who saw her on the Showcase are saying; ‘Remember when we saw Summer for FREE at Bears Place?!’ Summer has performed alongside folks like Mike Kelsey – with ease.
Don’t forget – the Bloomington Songwriter Showcase is FREE
Must be 21+ to enter Bears Place BACK ROOM
Showtime – 8-10pm – doors open at 7pm
