“Madness, Mayhem and Missed Connections in Broadway and Opera.” Baritone Richard Lewis and friends launch a YouTube concert event that includes an opportunity to support Fairview Elementary School arts and literacy programs.
Here’s a tonic for what ails you in this crazy, topsy-turvy world – our tenth-anniversary concert! This year we offer a 1-hour YouTube event with new performances of musical favorites from our past nine seasons – songs and duets by Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Mozart, Bizet and Puccini and madcap trios by Rossini and Gilbert & Sullivan. We’ll appear side-by-side onscreen while singing from our respective home towns: leading lady Anna Singer in Pittsburgh, tenor Robert Chafin in Morgantown, WV, maestro Michael Borowitz in Baton Rouge, and baritone Richard Lewis in Bloomington, Indiana. Talk about missed connections!
Once again we seek to benefit literacy and Artful Learning programs at Bloomington’s Fairview Elementary School. We thank you for your past support, totaling nearly $12,000 since 2014, and hope you will consider assisting these students again this year. We’ll provide more information about the school programs during our event as well as options for you to give securely online or by check. This program is supported in part by Solution Tree. See you on August 30 on the “Richard Lewis Opera and Broadway Channel” at YouTube.com!
