Enjoy maple syrup-made refreshments as we touch briefly on the history of syrup production, discuss tree identification, learn about tree tapping, and the collection and processing of sap into syrup. Then we’ll head outside to demonstrate the techniques learned. This is an interactive class so questions are encouraged.

Self-Care Sunday: The Art of Well-Being!
Crove n’ Brew with Terese Urban (OHM & Brew is on a break for the month)

Second Sunday, February 9
2:00-4:00 pm – Being CREATIVE is an important aspect of Self-Care!
Bring your portable fiber-art project to the gallery for a FREE afternoon of fun and fiber in Juniper’s Community Room! Artist, Terese Urban will be on hand to demonstrate her unique combination of crocheting and weaving! Juniper Art Gallery offers her popular, “hand-croven” scarves* for sale through our Artisan Shop.

4:30 – 6:00 –– Afterwards, we will enjoy some food and drink together at Civilian Brewing Corps (on the Spencer Courthouse Square)! Please note that attendees are responsible for the expense of their own food and drink at the brewery.

*A “croven” scarf is a piece of artwear that is lovingly made by combining the arts of crocheting and weaving. First, a mesh that forms the base of the scarf is crocheted to create the warp for weaving. Then, strands of beautifully colored and textured yarns are woven through the warp creating a unique design. The final product is a warm, ultra-soft work of art meant to comfort the wearer on a chilly day.

Join us Sunday afternoons for a variety of self-care experiences that will relax, enrich and sooth your heart, mind, body and spirit. Self-Care Sundays are offered by local and regional practitioners from a variety of personal-well-being disciplines.
