Love Songs for a Lasting World
05:00 pm to 07:00 pm
Buskirk-Chumley Theater
http://www.middlewayhouse.org/events/love-songs/
Celebrate the enduring power of love this Valentine’s Day with hammer dulcimer player and composer, Malcolm Dalglish, and his Ooolite singers and friends. A benefit for Middle Way House, Love Songs For a Lasting World is about the multiplicity of love between sweethearts young and old, parent and child, brothers and sisters, for elders, and for our natural world. There’s music here for all hearts, full, lonely, or broken. There’s even a tragic ballad about a newly wed frog and mouse. In the Dalglish tradition, there will be settings of love poems by Wendell Berry and other beloved poets, light verse, dance, romance, humor, and a singing processional to a bonfire and PIE.
In the heart of our wonderful Bloomington, Middle Way House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, is a place where:
Love’s found a home and where love will not stray,
Support Middle Way this Valentine’s Day.
