Persuasion – in this adaptation of Jane Austen’s romantic novel, Anne and her former fiancé, Captain Wentworth, are thrust back into each other’s lives after seven years apart. Join us at McCormick’s Creek State Park for this free event at the Nature Center! Participants will be lead by Windfall Dancers through a movement workshop inspired by our surroundings. All ages are welcome!

Workshop Details:

All ages, all abilities workshop. Participants will be guided through development of movement phrases based on inspiration from the park. These phrases will be put together to form short dances. The inspiration will be from movement observed, shapes of branches, sounds, etc., noticed during a brief walk. Members of the Windfall Dance Company will be assisting the participants.

*While we do not charge for the workshop, regular park entry fees do apply.

Craig Brenner Presents Music in Indiana State Parks & Historic Sites

Performing as a result of a 2017 Arts in the Parks & Historic Sites grant, Craig will play piano, provide percussion instruments, and invite young people to play along on some tunes, exploring the jazzy side of blues, boogie woogie and other styles, while focusing on music by Indiana musicians. Craig Brenner Presents Music in Indiana State Parks

Craig Brenner will perform music and invite the young – and young at heart – to join him in exploring the jazzy side of blues, boogie woogie and other piano styles at Paynetown SRA on Saturday, July 15 at 8 p.m.

The concert will focus on Indiana composers and musicians. Attendees will be invited to play along on some tunes, using percussion instruments Craig will provide.

The 60-minute concert will take place at the Activity Center Amphitheater, which is next to the swimming beach. Some bench seating is available; you may want to bring your own chairs.

This concert is made possible by support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Paynetown SRA is located at 4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington.

The Property Entrance Fee at Paynetown SRA is $7 per vehicle with Indiana license plates, or $9 per vehicle with out-of-state plates. Annual Entrance Permits are also available for sale at the gatehouse.

Blue Rising returns to The Bluebird for a night of high caliber hard rock music and the Bloomington release of their new record, ‘Fool the Devil’ on July 15th.
