Dawn Rivera: My Journey in Glass

Dawn is a self-taught artist, who currently works full-time out of her home studio in Indianapolis, IN. She has been working in glass since 2006, but has been fascinated by it ever since her father introduced her to it as a child. Though she has tried stained and blown glass, fused glass caught her attention. She is always trying to learn new techniques so she can grow as an artist and constantly create unique art pieces.

The Grunwald Gallery at Indiana University is pleased to announce the Bloomington Photography Club Annual Exhibition. This exhibition will open Friday, July 17 and continue through Friday, July 31. An opening reception will be held on Friday, July 17 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Grunwald Gallery.
The Bloomington Photography Club explores the connection between the eye, the camera, and the spirit, by fostering and encouraging growth of artistic vision and technical knowledge. The Club provides an informal, friendly, and supportive environment for photographers at all levels of ability and with interests in all types of photographic imagery. Furthermore, the Club offers a means for members to share ideas and knowledge with each other and to promote an interest in photography throughout the community through exhibitions and public events. The Bloomington Photography Club has held it’s annual exhibition at the Grunwald Gallery for over 20 years. The exhibition is juried, thematically open, and open to all club members.

Beginning July 31st, at 6:00 p.m. with an opening reception, and continuing for only one week, The Venue will host a sneak preview of a new series of paintings by Daniel Lager.
Regular patrons of The Venue will recognize Dan as one of our featured artists, and many have become the proud owners of his creative and beautiful reverse paintings on acrylic, such as the iconic Peace Tree, Scenic Way, and Grandfather’s Cow.
Ever the innovator, while not abandoning his original themes, Dan has developed a new series that utilizes new themes and techniques which are sure to please. His new paintings, like his first series, are enchanting and affordable.
