Recent Work, an Exhibition and Sale of Paintings by Wyatt LeGrand at The Venue

06:00 pm to 07:00 pm
The Venue

On Friday, March 9, The Venue will host a reception for Recent Work, an Exhibition and Sale of Paintings by Wyatt LeGrand.

Wyatt LeGrand continues to garner recognition as one of Indiana’s Art Treasures. His plein air paintings have brought him awards from The Hoosier Salon, Indiana Heritage Arts, The Indiana Artists Club, Plein Air Magazine, and Oil Painters of America. His paintings are now in the permanent collection of The Indiana State Museum.
In Wyatt’s own words, “My inspiration and drive comes from nothing other than the experience of putting brush to canvas, letting the things I see before me flow from eye, to heart, to hand, to brush.”

For this Exhibition and Sale, Wyatt has selected his favorite paintings and drawings from among his most recent works. In them he demonstrates his impressive drawing skills and his eye for vivid color and action. These paintings are a treat to see and own.

Our fine selection of paintings, jewelry, ceramics, and objets d’art will also be on display for purchase.

Friday Night Lecture: “The Power of Buddhist Logic”

07:00 pm to 08:15 pm
Kadampa Meditation Center Bloomington, 406 S. Walnut St.
http://www.meditationinbloomington.org

“The Power of Buddhist Logic” will be hosted by Kelsang Namdrol, American Buddhist nun and resident teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Bloomington on Friday, March 9, from 7–8:15 p.m.

In this lecture, Kelsang Namdrol will explain how Buddhists use logic and reason to develop confidence in practicing Buddha’s teachings. Buddha taught not to just blindly believe what he said, but to test it out for ourselves and then draw a conclusion. In this way, our conviction in the teachings of love, compassion, and wisdom are strong, and therefore make our spiritual practice deep and meaningful. Everyone is welcome!
