Special Exhibitions

The Eskenazi Museum of Art serves as the only Midwest venue for this major traveling exhibition, which covers more than twenty-five years of the internationally acclaimed artist’s career. Known for his photographic images of famous people, places, and artworks created using unconventional materials, Vik Muniz has become a staple of the contemporary art scene. His smart, postmodern pictures delight viewers, while challenging their perceptions.

The Grunwald Gallery at Indiana University Bloomington is pleased to present this year’s MFA Thesis Exhibitions. These exhibitions feature work created by graduating Master of Fine Arts students in the School of Art and Design at Indiana University. MFA 1 features the work of Matthew Batty (Printmaking), Matthew Falvey (Sculpture), Katelyn Greenberg (Sculpture), Stephanie Kim (Graphic Design), Ashley Moog (Photography), and Amanda Ross (Textiles).

A Pastel Demonstration by Joanne Baum at The Venue

On Tuesday eve, March 21st, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Venue will host an artist demonstration of painting with pastels, by Joanne Baum.
Joanne developed her passion for pastels several years ago and has perfected the techniques of color layering, and over and under painting that take full advantage of the qualities of the medium.
Joanne will demonstrate various basic techniques, to wet the appetite of the novice. Her presentation will be interactive, informative, and fun.
Light refreshments will be served, and our collection of gifts and fine art will be on display for viewing and purchase.

U.S. Foreign Policy: Challenge in the Middle East

Ambassador Dennis Ross, American diplomat and author, specializing in Middle East policy will be hosted by the Indiana University Hillel Center. He served under multiple Presidents on both sides of the political aisle including George Bush Sr., Bill Clinton, and Barak Obama. Most notably Ross served as a top American negotiator facilitating the 1994 Israel-Jordan peace treaty ending 27 years of conflict between the two states. Before dedicating his service to Middle East negotiations, Ross played a prominent role in developing US policy toward the former Soviet Union and the unification of Germany. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.
