You Need to Know: Volunteers in Medicine, a presentation by Executive Director, Nancy Richman

05:30 pm to 07:00 pm
The Venue Fine Art & Gifts
http://www.thevenuebloomington.com

Any one of us may be, may become, or may know someone who is in need of critical medical services they cannot afford. At Bloomington’s Volunteers in Medicine, access to healthcare is embraced as a fundamental right and a building block for all facets of life. VIM is the only comprehensive health care clinic offering free medical services to low‐income medically undeserved residents of Monroe and Owen counties.

On Tuesday, May 9th, beginning at 5:30p.m., The Venue Fine Art & Gifts will host a presentation by Nancy Richman, the Executive Director of Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), which will address your questions about VIM; who they are, how they are funded, what services they provide, and to whom. With this vital information, you will learn where to go, and where to send others who are in need.

We at The Venue believe you will find VIM to be a source of inspiration. People, Professionals, and Businesses coming together to help those in need. You will also learn how you can contribute. This is what makes Bloomington Bloomington.

Tim O’Malley, Cara Jean Marcy & Bryce Taylor – Bloomington Songwriter Showcase

08:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Bears Place - 1316 East 3rd St., Bloomington IN 47401
http://www.facebook.com/BloomingtonSongwriters

Tim O’Malley (www.myspace.com/timblues) is one of Bloomington’s favorite Blues sons. He  has performed in about every successful band in the area at one time or another. These days, O’Malley is playing his OWN songs and we are the happy recipients of that!

Tonight, Tim will share the stage with Cara Jean Marcy (www.myspace.com/carajeanwhalers) a singer-songwriter from the Indianapolis area who has one of the most beautiful alto voices you’ll ever hear. Cara’s songs have won awards, as has her artwork.

Bryce Taylor showed up at one of our Open Guest night chairs a few weeks back and simply killed it! Our Audience loved this fellow’s music and style. He’s Contemporary, with an Alternative influence. Very nice guitar skills and songs to match! (http://www.brycetaylormusic.com)
Speaking of our Open Guest chair . . . show up early to sign up and YOU can perform a tune at the Showcase! Guest spots are limited – first come, first serve.
Don’t forget – this show is FREE!
Must be 21+ to enter the BACK ROOM at Bears Place (1316 E. 3rd St. – Bloomington IN)
