Lemonade Day Monroe County is a collaborative effort of the City of Bloomington, Monroe County government, the Boys and Girls Club and the Ivy Tech Gayle and Bill Cook Center for Entrepreneurship that promotes entrepreneurship to the community’s youth through the operation of lemonade stands.

“Build a stand, Spark a dream!” This relates well to our foremost objective: to empower youth to take ownership of their lives and grow to become productive community members – business owners, social advocates, and goal oriented citizens. Lemonade Day is an opportunity for caring adult mentors to share time with children, working together on a meaningful project that imparts life lessons in successful self-reliance and citizenship. Lemonade Day brings the community together to experience entrepreneurship, promote philanthropy, and celebrate the bright aspirations of our future leaders.

Lemonade Day is a fun, experiential program that teaches youth in K-5th grade the math, business and financial skills needed to start, own and operate their very own business – a lemonade stand. College Mall will be hosting local youth selling lemonade on May 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.in Center Court by Target.

Departing every hour and half hour. Tour goers will learn more about the influential movers and shakers within the Covenanter community through those buried at the cemetery. The earliest grave dates from 1838 and many names are still prominent throughout the community. The cemetery is located at the northeast corner of Moores Pike/Hillside Drive and High Street. Parking is available at the tennis courts .2 miles east on the south side of Moores Pike. The tour is presented by the Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission and Monroe County Historic Preservation Board in recognition of National Historic Preservation Month.

DANCE WorkShop. Learn how to dance from Professionals.

Workshop is going to be taught by two Professional Dancers/Instructors at Fred Astaire Dance Studio and will consists of 3 Group Dance Sessions 40 minutes each that includes:
One of each style of dances – Waltz, East Coast Swing and Salsa;
The most important fundamentals of partnership dancing;
How to Lead and how to Follow;
Main characteristics of Ballroom, Latin & Swing Dances.
It’s a unique opportunity to learn, because all the information above is going to be taught and demonstrated, so you will be able to see a result of the information that we going to teach.

It is going to be a wonderful chance to learn details that will make your dance feel comfortable and easy.

Tickets are $20 per all three sessions, you can purchase them on website or at the dance studio. No Partner Required. One per couple or individual.

Hit musical, performed by Playhouse Community Theater, begins when Little Sisters of Hoboken discovering that their cook, Sister Julia, has accidentally poisoned 52 sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium. All ages show.
