When your toddler or preschool child hits the turf field at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center, they will be ready to run and play! An indoor turf field provides you and your young child with ample space to run, play on an obstacle course, and practice ball throwing and kicking skills. This free-time play is parent supervised while the TLRC provides all the equipment for an hour of healthy physical play. Check the monthly calendar for special Turf Time days with the bounce house and specially scheduled games. For children ages 1 – 6 yrs. w/parent. Every Monday and Wednesday.

Learn essential computer skills in short 1 hour express classes. Learn the basics of Word including opening, creating, printing and saving simple documents. We’ll also discover how to set text size and to recognize Word icons. This is a basic word class for those who are unfamiliar with word processing.

Attendees should be comfortable with using a mouse and keyboard. Register on link provided.

This class is beyond the basics, but still set at an easy pace. Join us to sing and converse in a relaxed atmosphere. No registration necessary. Drop in.

Join Young Professionals of Bloomington at Yogi’s Grill & Bar on May 30th for their monthly get-together. They have had several new members join their ranks recently and would love to meet some new faces. So come on out for some relaxed socializing on Wednesday, May 30th starting at 5:30pm. A a $25 gift certification will be awarded to one lucky YPOBer.

Wednesday night is “Hot Wings, Cool Jazz” night at BuffaLouie’s. Come hear local musicians of all ages. All tips will go to a specific fund raiser. This will help provide a diverse audience for the musicians and generate goodwill for jazz in the community.

Every Wednesday is Open Mic Night at Max’s Place. The casual brick-oven pizzeria and club on the downtown Square hosts a variety of performers, from music to comedy to poetry. The show begins at 7:30 pm. All ages are welcome.

Performers must sign up in advance at 5:00 pm (in person or by phone).

Every Wednesday night come and join us for contra-dancing with great musicians, great callers, and a great community of dancers. Never contra-danced before? No problem. Come at 8 pm and we’ll show you the basic steps. The dance begins at 8:15 pm.

Every Wednesday night at 8PM is Open Mic Night (‘Last Comic Standing’). Each week, twelve up and coming comedians compete against each other in order to win guest sets at the following weekend’s shows. Each comedian is asked to do no more than five minutes of relatively clean and completely original material. Winners are decided by a combination of audience participation and selections by a panel of unnamed judges.
