Encore Plant Sale at the Farmstead

Bloomington Restorations, Inc. invites you to the monthly Museum Open Day at the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead on Saturday, May 30, from 1-4 p.m. An encore of the Daisy Days Plant Sale will be held with native perennials, landscape flowers, spring-planted bulbs and miscellaneous trees and shrubs for sale. Pure maple syrup and jellies produced on site by volunteers will also be available for purchase. Music will be provided inside the 1892 main house by members of Friday Musicale. The Farmstead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned and maintained by Bloomington Restorations, Inc. It is free and open to the public and is located at 2920 E. Anna Capable is a hoarder. The stacks of McDonald’s happy meal toys, beanie babies, and useless junk pile straight up to the ceiling, forcing her daughter, Jessy, to call a TV network in hopes of clearing the mess and curing her mother. But the TV network’s producer, David, is looking for more than just another cluttered home to get the ratings he needs. With his career on the line, he’s hungry to expose the Capables’ dirty laundry—whether it’s in their house, or their personal lives—at all costs.

The songs themselves reflect the range of Lynne’s influences – from Southern soul, Crescent City R&B, and California country & western to the ardent social consciousness of precursors like Woody Guthrie and even the roots ‘n blues vocalizing of Billie Holiday.

Shelby Lynne’s 13th full-length album I Can’t Imagine, features 10 new songs written or co-written by the Grammy-winning vocalist. I Can’t Imagine is powered by Lynne’s vocal performance, her sparkling songwriting, and the versatile playing of a top-flight band, led by guitarist Ben Peeler.

According to Lynne, the songs were mostly written in a swift burst in 2012. Asked what was going on in her life at the time, she replies, “What wasn’t going on? There are always twists and a turns.”
