Do you want your children to spend more time outdoors? Are your kids interested in fishing, but you don’t know where to start? Have you been looking for a new activity to do as a family?
Monroe Lakes is offering a Family Learn to Fish Workshop on Sunday, May 31 at Paynetown State Recreation Area. The 3-hour introductory workshop begins at 9 a.m. and is designed specifically for families to learn how to fish together.
Preregistration is required by May 26 at http://bit.ly/familyfishmay2015. The workshop is limited to 12 people and children must be at least 6 years of age.
Participants will learn a little fish biology, gain basic fishing skills, and finish by doing some dock/bank fishing. All of the equipment will be provided.
The workshop is free, but each adult (ages 18+) must purchase a fishing license ($9 for a one-day license or $17 for an annual license) prior to the workshop. The registration link includes info on where to purchase a fishing license. Fishing licenses are not required for children.
